| We will be meeting at our usual Sunday location of the Garden School (33-16 79th Street, Jackson Heights, NY 11372) on 4/28 from 11am to 12:30pm. We will then (weather permitting) head out in pairs to ask residents to request the NYC Parks Department to plant free trees! Homeowners are entitled to this service, and we hope many will request the service. We will be informing residents about it and giving them flyers detailing the simple steps they need to go through to make the request. The more people we have walking with us from door to door, the more of an impact we can have! This would help homeowners make the most of empty dirt plots in front of their houses where trees had previously died. This planting of new free trees would help the environment and make the neighborhood look nicer. Every day enormous numbers of vehicles are driven through Queens, polluting our air. Additional trees would help clean the air of these pollutants. So, please join us for this activity! You can see the information flyer we will be passing out below. |
